TRANSPARENCE 2016: Space In Motion

WHAT: The theme for Transparence 2016, an annual students’ competition organised by Ethos India and Saint Gobain is Space In Motion.

The programme brief is Performing Arts Centre at the Pragati Maidan complex, New Delhi.

Pragati Maidan in New Delhi has been an epicenter of culture, history and art and has been playing an active part in encouraging and showcasing this since 1972. It has also been home to several literary fests, trade fairs and theatre over the years, inspiring and nurturing artists and their art. Landscape Foundation: Students’ Design Competition 2016

WHAT: Theme: Change is the only constant.

Landscape design is a spatial design discipline which is close to nature. Landscape is typically a composition of natural elements—land, water and vegetation—through which an artist or a designer conceptualizes and finally realizes a creative endeavour. Visualized to fulfil various aesthetic and functional uses, they provide a framework to a site within which the designer works. Having the natural attributes of a living medium, landscapes are born {or, conceptualized}, they grow, and they decay to be

Mind Rain Students’ Architecture Competition

A) Design Project for First Year and Second Year students.

What: Design a residence for a couple living with a  pet – a crocodile ( Open to interpretation. Just make sure you design a good shelter for their pet, whichever animal you decide. ). You have the complete freedom to design the house on land, floating in the air, floating on water or even under water. We only want you to have super fun while designing a super fun house for the couple and their dear pet.

B) Design project for 3rd, 4th and 5th Year students.
What: Design a habitat for a couple who conducts design and creative workshops. They invite students who would stay in a special hostel. You are free to choose a site anywhere in the world. Just make sure that the area of the site you choose is not less than 2 acre (8095 sqm).

13TH IAHH International Student Design Competition (ISDC)

What: The 13th IAHH International Student Design Competition (ISDC) shall focus on the theme of development of a locality on the periphery of an existing town or a city with an aim to transform the area into a vibrant humane and sustainable community through innovative planning, design and construction which addresses the key issue of evolving sustainable humane habitats in harmony with its natural setting and socio-cultural environment in the regional context.
